Reporting in to the IT Applications Manager, the Applications Support Lead role is accountable for leading a team of application support analysts responsible for operational support, upgrades and enhancements of business applications except for the ERP system (PeopleSoft).
This role requires an individual capable of working across a variety of applications which support several key business functions including Rail Planning and Operations, HR, Safety, Asset Management and other areas.
You’ll be an experienced technical lead, expected to perform day to day support duties as well as manage and develop a highly skilled technical support team.
You’ll be expected to engage with a broad range of stakeholders across the wider business to understand business requirements, while assisting in developing best practice in the execution of requirements, design and usability.
Our ideal applicant must possess significant application support and development experience managing technical teams and stakeholders in large enterprise environments.
The team lead must be an excellent communicator with the ability to work cohesively with internal IT teams and business representatives. This lead role is responsible for Monthly Application governance meetings with external Support Service Providers and Business leaders.
You’ll need a high level of technical ability to solve issues or be capable of triaging the issue and identifying the right party to pass the problem on to.
In addition, you’ll be expected to demonstrate:
- Proven background in a technical leadership capacity specific to broad Business Applications
- Excellent technical experience supporting and developing a range of mission critical applications
- Experience supporting and developing IBM Maximo support
- Strong Software Engineering background and/or Architecture
- Experience working in ITIL Service Delivery Management framework
- Familiarity with Problem management processes
- Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline will be highly regarded
